Prof. Éva Hideg, former Head of the Department of Plant Biology at University of Pécs, accepted the position of Excellent Researcher in the “Life Environment Research Center Ostrava (LERCO) project (reg. no. CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000003). She became a member of research team of Research Program 2 “Biochemical and biophysical methods of living systems analysis, Part 2 – Biophysics” and she is going to supervise the implementation of one of the main activities of this research program focused on “New methodical approaches for assessment of oxidative stress in biological systems”.
Prof Éva Hideg is among the most cited Hungarian plant biologists with high h-index (https://ehideg.wixsite.com/research) and research focused on plant stress physiology and oxidative stress. With her participation, LERCO RP2 researchers recently held an intense, week-long workshop in Ostrava discussing project results so far and establishing new plans with focus on development of new techniques for detection of reactive oxygen species. Future grant applications and new international projects were also scheduled. The team trusts that this co-operation will bring new exciting results and contribute to the excellence of the group regarding both basic research and applications.
