This year, the University of Ostrava was for the first time an active participant in the Science Fair held in Prague at the exhibition grounds in Letňany. Our department had the honor to represent our university here, along with several other OU representatives.
On behalf of the biophysics group, our doctoral student Jan Pleva and students Sára Petříková and Alice Ondovčáková participated in the event, who interactively presented topics related to plant pigments, photosynthesis and fluorescence, as well as the area of so-called secondary metabolites, which (among many other applications) we know as substances contained in spices and herbs.
We are happy that our activities interested both the smallest visitors and colleagues from other research institutions, with whom we found common ground regarding the possibility of cooperation.
